Rosies Joys and Gems began in 1990, inspired by my love of antique fabrics and textiles, as well as beadwork and embroidery. The name was something that just came to me, my mother’s name was Rosie, and I was her joy and her gem, as well as her love for Vintage fashion from her era, 1940’s thru to the 1950’s. I studied several years under Amanda Page, who was the curator of a historical museum in southern Vermont, who specialized in vintage fabrics and fashion, doing restoration work and repairs to vintage costumes and dresses.

I relocated to London and 2010 opened a Boutique in Hampton Court Emporium, in East Molesey, Surrey. The boutique has grown and features a range of Vintage evening gowns, dresses, lingerie and Bridal wear stretching from 1900 thru 1970’s, with fresh items to view on a regular basis. This year, I have launched a website to showcase my range of fashion and accessories, with special seasonal stock in addition to vintage Kimonos and Haori jackets from Japan.

As well as offering alterations for current stock, I can also source specific items for clients for personal occasions and also work on a personal level for private appointments and fittings. I take pride in sourcing out the best and most beautiful vintage pieces with excellent customer service for my clients.
